Making dinner for the family
I've learned that with being a new mom it's hard to have the motivation to make dinner for my husband and I after a long day taking care of the baby. After constant baby care, keeping up with laundry, dishes, and cleaning the house, I really didn't feel like making an elaborate meal. So, my little secret? crock pot meals! They are great and incredibly easy to do. Throw the ingredients in in the morning and don't worry about doing anything but serving it 8-12 hours later. Crockpots are perfect for this time of year as well. Here are a few recipes that I've made and are crowd pleasers:
Crockpot Buffalo Chicken:
3 lb bag of boneless, skinless chicken breasts (frozen)
1 bottle of Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce
1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip
~Place frozen chicken into crockpot. Then drizzle entire bottle of buffalo sauce and ranch packet over chicken. Place lid on the crock pot and let cook for 6-8 hours. (Depending on what temperature setting you put it on.) About 15 minutes before its done, shred chicken.
~You can put it on buns, tortillas, salads, sandwich bread, etc. and enjoy!
Crockpot Pot Roast:
1-3 lb roast
2 cups of baby carrots
1 lb of potatoes cut into large chucks
1-14&1/2 ounces of beef broth
Salt & pepper to taste
~Place all the ingredients into crock pot and cover. Cook for 6-8 hours on low.
Ham & Potato Casserole:
4 red potatoes sliced
2 red onions (finely chopped)
1&1/2 pounds of cubed cooked ham
1 can of cream of celery soup (diluted; follow instructions on the can)
2 tbsp of flour
~Place all ingredients into crock pot and cover. Cook for 4-6 hours on low.
~Pair with a salad, or vegetable.
Try some of these recipes! I guarantee you and your family will love them! I'll put some more recipes up here for you all later on. Enjoy!
xoxo,
Alex
